Company History

Contract Drafting Company was founded in May of 1970 by Mr. Phillip A. Hutson based in Greensboro, North Carolina. Contract Drafting Company
produced shop drawings for the Structural Steel Industry.

In 1974, Contract Drafting Company was incorporated to form a new company, Contract Steel Sales Inc. That same year the first fabricating facility
was acquired in Staley, North Carolina. In 1982, a second facility was opened in Butner, North Carolina. In 1995, we became a certified member of the
American Institute of Steel Construction.

In 2000, John L. Bundren became President of Contract Steel Sales Inc. and Phillip A. Hutson became Chairman of the Board of Directors.

In 2005, we added a processing facility in Chatham County, which includes a drilline and a saw capable of processing a forty-four inch beam.

Today, we are proud to be recognized as one of the best Structural Steel
Fabricators in the industry. We take great pride in our work and strive to
provide top quality work to satisfy our reason for being in business,
